Welcome to PISA's blog!

Welcome to the blog of Parkville International Students' Association or PISA. In this blog we strive to bring you the latest news concerning our association as well as being an avenue for you to seek assistance when the need arises. This blog will slowly replace PISA's website as a blog is easier to maintain. But the website will also be retained for sentimental purposes. Why pisa05? It because we want to remember that PISA is established in 2005. We hope you have fun in PISA. Happy reading!

Health Services

It was written in STEPS (pg 8) that the Melbourne University Health Services provide general practice services for Monash Uni Parkville Students.

However, University of Melbourne chose to terminate this service for students outside their university from May 2008. =(

For those of you living near Melbourne Uni and wondering where to go in case you got sick, the VCP monash link here provides a good rundown.

The medical centre listed are bulk billing centres, which mean they claim your consultation fees directly from your healthcare provider (OSHC) so you generally do not need to pay any money.

If you go for other medical centres that are not bulk billed, you need to pay the doctor first and then claim the moeny from your healthcare provider (a waste of time and effort).

Hope this is clear for everyone.

Another side tip: please take care of yourself well in Melbourne coz medicines are expensive!
